The holiday's, LAME-SAUCE!

So after much though, and much personal secret anguish while narrowing down why the Christmas holidays bring so much distress, there are some conclusions found as to the root of it all.

The holidays are all supposed to be about the celebration of the life of Jesus, as long as you are of a Christian based faith, if not, it's all about the spirit of family and friends, food and fun, warmth and caring, loving and sharing, but they aren't.

The associated 'Christians' get a free pass to a season of hypocritical redemption, while hanging little pictures of Jesus on their door, maybe a few ornaments of various other Saints on their tree as decoration, donate a whopping $10.00 to unicef, and make sure that everyone knows that they are 'Christian'. It becomes a season of public advertisement in hopes that it will be enough to last the year out of redemption. The week passes, the consumerist advertisements of a religious nature gets packed up until the following year, the in laws get dropped off back at the retirement home, and the sin begins again. Churches get a break from the over crowding that happens during the one Sunday a year that holds it highest attendance rate being the Sunday before December 25th, and it all digresses back. Prayer stops, the kids get yelled at, and the needy become hungry yet again.

If one is agnostic or atheist as myself, the Christmas has an entirely different list of hypocrisy. It is a season of riding the train that the Christians built while denying any such form of recognition of the efforts put forth by those persons. Its a time of faults smiles, empty wallets and pressures to out perform ones friends and family with a degree of competitive gift giving, food cooking, party hosting, drinking, bragging, debt, and reuniting with purposefully forgotten distant relatives. At the end of all of this, all that is left behind is the residue of rotten fruit cake, bags of garbage, and the stale taste of a lonely faithless existence. We then dispose of the used "Chris"mas tree, throw out the decorations, sweet the floor, put away all the gifts and call it a night, ready to take life on in the morning, which we've been saving little bits of cash here and there in preparation for a selfish boxing day experience of fist pumping desperate rage.

If your lucky enough to neither be Christian nor Atheist, you can be considered lucky. No need for any of this. One can sit back, and bask in all the glory of the break from life that one can get. Perhaps even stay at home and laugh about the grind and stress that the rest of the world is experiencing at that moment and literally laugh out loud! Ironically the Christians shun choice, and the Atheists point, laugh, and ridicule the smart ones.

Who actually has it right?

Next continues to New Years eve. And the cycle continues over.
